FLOODED CARPET ACTION PLAN – Step 06 2019-10-31T14:01:23+00:00

Step 6: Installation of dryers and/or dehumidifiers

Once the immediate excess water has been removed, it will still be important to remove moisture from the air and immediate woodwork, flooring and carpets. A flood also puts additional moisture into the air, which can settle over coming days. We do this to prevent long-term damage to the space.

Moisture left in the wood and carpets can develop a nasty smell in the short term, and over a longer period of time can result in mould and other such health hazards. By deploying air dryers and/ or dehumidifiers, we are able to get the water out of the immediate area quickly and safely.

This process might take a couple of days, depending on the extent of the flood, and we recommend that the in such conditions the air dehumidifiers are left on for as long each day as possible. Of course, we don’t need to be around for that period of time! We are able to leave the devices in your home, and they can be easily operated. (sounds like our expertise is not needed.)
